Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, beaten eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for about 10 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape and Bake
- Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- If desired, create a braid with the dough or form a wreath shape. Nestle the hard-boiled eggs into the dough.
- Cover the shaped dough and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Prepare the Glaze
- In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust milk for desired consistency.
Finish and Serve
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the warm bread.
- Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add citrus zest or spices like nutmeg or cardamom to the dough. This bread can also be gifted in baskets during Easter celebrations.
