Super Bowl Italian Sliders

These delicious Italian sliders are perfect for game day, featuring savory meats, melted cheese, and a zesty sauce all piled high on soft slider buns.

Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 12 pieces slider buns
  • 1 pound Italian sausage crumbled
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup marinara sauce for topping
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
For the Topping
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon parmesan cheese grated

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled Italian sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and drain excess fat.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, pepperoni slices, and mozzarella cheese.
Assemble the Sliders
  1. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  2. Spread the sausage and cheese mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the buns.
  3. Drizzle the marinara sauce over the meat and cheese mixture, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  4. Cover with the top halves of the buns.
Add the Topping
  1. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, and grated parmesan cheese.
  2. Brush the mixture over the tops of the slider buns.
Bake the Sliders
  1. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden and cheese is bubbly.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  2. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side.
