Prepare the Base
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the sloppy joe sauce and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
Assemble the Casserole
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Pour the beef mixture over the crescent roll base, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the beef mixture.
Bake the Casserole
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent roll is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
