  • 1 pound ground beef preferably lean
  • 2 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
For the Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium recommended
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch to thicken the sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
For the Aromatics
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger grated
For Garnish
  • 2 green onions green onions sliced for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted, for garnish

Method
 

Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat over medium-high heat and add the ground beef.
  2. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5 minutes.
Adding Aromatics
  1. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the beef, stirring for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Incorporating Broccoli
  1. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring to combine with the beef.
  2. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth until smooth.
Combining Everything
  1. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  2. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
