Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking
For the Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Method
 

Cooking the Chicken
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
Making the Teriyaki Sauce
  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until well combined.
  2. Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce and stir until smooth.
Combining Chicken and Sauce
  1. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet.
  2. Stir to coat the chicken evenly and bring to a simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  2. Serve hot over steamed rice or alongside vegetables.

Notes
