Ingredients

For the Base
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups pasta shells uncooked
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
For the Garnish
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Method

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and uncooked pasta shells. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat and stir in half of the grated parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with the remaining parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.

For added flavor, consider seasoning the beef with salt and pepper while browning. You can also substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
