  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 cup walnuts (raw or toasted)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (canola or avocado)
  • 2 green onions (sliced thinly)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (unseasoned)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mince the garlic and slice the green onions.
  2. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  3. In the same skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté until golden brown (about 30 seconds).
  4. Toss in the chopped broccoli and red pepper flakes; stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or maple syrup, and sesame oil.
  6. Pour the sauce over the broccoli, add toasted walnuts, mix well, and cook for another minute before serving.
