  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Press three-quarters of the dough into the prepared baking dish and reserve the remaining dough for topping.
  4. Evenly sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans over the pressed dough, then drizzle with caramel sauce.
  5. Crumble the reserved dough over the caramel layer.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown around the edges. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
