Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (5 oz) chunk light tuna, drained
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped celery, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice. On the unbuttered side of half the slices, spread a generous amount of the tuna mixture and top with shredded cheddar.
  3. Place another slice on top (buttered side up) and heat a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Grill the sandwiches until golden brown on one side (about 3-4 minutes), then flip and press lightly with a spatula. Cook until both sides are golden and cheese is melted (another 3-4 minutes).
  5. Remove from the skillet and cool for one minute before slicing diagonally. Serve warm.
