  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (2.6g)
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (0.5g)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (120g) for the glaze
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract for the glaze

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 110°F and mix it with yeast in a bowl; let it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix in melted butter and eggs, then add the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour until a sticky dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and roll out to half-inch thickness; cut into donut shapes.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F and fry donuts for about 1 minute per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Mix powdered sugar with vanilla extract and drizzle over cooled donuts or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
