  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper; cook for about 6 minutes per side until cooked through. Shred the chicken and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour for about 2 minutes, then gradually whisk in milk until thickened (about 5 minutes). Add cheddar cheese until melted.
  4. Combine cooked pasta, shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, and cheese sauce in a bowl; mix well.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish; optionally top with extra cheese. Bake for around 25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving; drizzle with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
