  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp green gel food coloring
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
  • 1/2 cup red candy hearts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in green food coloring until desired hue is achieved.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets about 2 inches apart. Press red candy hearts on top of each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool before serving.
